When we first moved into our Richmond house, we didn’t have a washer and dryer, so finding a laundromat was an order of business we needed to attend to rather soon. Thanks to Google reviews, we found a place on Quioccasin with a solid reputation for well-working machines and gathered up our laundry to do the washing and drying.
Well, as our manner was, we hadn’t thought of dinner and didn’t time it well at all, so of course we were starving while the dryers were tumbling our clothes. My husband happened to notice a little taco place next door to the laundry place. The sign over the front door says Taqueria Habanero’s, but Google has the place name as Habanero Mexican Grill.
We didn’t know what a treasure we stumbled onto. I decided to get a taco salad, because I just love taco salad, and I don’t remember what he had. We also got a side order of chips and salsa.
There’s no indoor seating at Taqueria Habanero, so we grabbed a table on the small patio outside to wait for our order. The chips and salsa were very good. When our meals were ready, we quite happily consumed them. It was exactly the fresh, spicy sort of Mexican food we love.
They had a newspaper article framed on the wall inside the restaurant among their accolades. Well-deserved, in my opinion. Next time you’re on Quioccasin Road, don’t miss Taqueria Habanero.
